  1. For those of you who jumped on the underdogs yesterday afternoon, you hit paydirt. When I looked at those games there were just too many potential underdog winners to pass up. They went 7-1 but unfortunately I posted the one loser along with a winner in Yale. The night card was totally different as you had some big teams cover easily. Today is tricky too so I only have a couple suggestions for the day card. I’m going with Virginia and Buffalo this afternoon.

  2. Thursday night play:
    1* Nevada money line
I will probably take Wofford and Syracuse also. I knew the the underdogs would hit early as they are 6-0 so far today . Not sure if Northeastern can get there but there is still plenty of time left. Yale came back to get there so let’s hope Northeastern can , too.

  3. Thursday afternoon plays:
    1* Yale +8
    1* Northeastern +7
In the first 8 games tomorrow afternoon the underdogs could conceivably cover all 8. There are some good teams in the underdog role tomorrow. Yale is a a scoring machine playing their best basketball right now. LSU is still a great team but if Yale can get off to a good start, LSU will become flustered and their interim coach couldn’t adjust to Florida last game and he may have problems again. This line started at 8 and has dropped to 7.5. It may drop another half point by game time tomorrow. Kansas is just not that good unless they are playing at home. Northeastern is strong inside and will not be intimidated by the Jayhawks. I usually stop posting this time of year but have found a little momentum going 24-12 my last 36 posted picks. Let’s keep the roll going with the Bulldogs and Huskies!

  4. Wednesday play:
    1* Arizona State ml -125
Spread on this game opened at -1 then went to 1.5 and now -2. I think it will continue to rise so I’ll grab the money line now. This Arizona state team is really good and athletic and when they play well they can beat almost anyone. St. John’s was 8-10 in their league. Really not sure how this team made it into the tournament, NC-Greensboro should have been there instead. Thank you to Mike Daum and the Jackrabbits for covering the number after a really bad start. Line did drop to 8-8.5 by game time but that number was no problem either. It’s a shame they didn’t get a home game as they would have sold out. Instead they had to go to Texas and play in front of 800 people

  5. Tuesday play:
    1* South Dakota State +10
This line opened at 8 then went to 9.5. I don’t get it, I expect line to go back down before game time. South Dakota State is not happy losing to Western Illinois in their tournament after winning the league. Mike Daum is one of the most dominating players in the game and I’ll take ten points here to a Texas squad who wilted at the end of the season and not sure how motivated they will be. I know it’s at Texas but the Jackrabbits should stay inside the number.

  6. Update:
I know you are all eagerly awaiting my prediction for tonight’s only college basketball game between Quinnipiac and New Jersey Tech in the opening round of the CIT at 6:00 but I only have an opinion on that game. Meanwhile, SLU and the under comes through for the third straight game even though SLU played awful and looked nervous out of the gate as their first ten shots barely found the rim, some not even that. But the Bonnies did the same in the second half and even though our best free throw shooter couldn’t even make free throws, they somehow survived. (Why did the best player on St. Bonny intentionally foul with 55 seconds left down by two? He fouled out thankfully because he probably would have made that last shot.) Out of 351 D-1 basketball teams, SLU ranks 350 in FT percentage at 59.9% . Incarnate Word leads the nation at 81% and Manhattan is the worst at 58.4% And it’s sad when your top guards can’t even make them. Anyway congrats to the Billikens but now they face Virginia Tech with their best player Justin Robinson back after not playing since January with an injured foot. That doesn’t bode well for St. Louis who would have to play a perfect game in order to pull off the upset. They will play in the very last game of the opening round on Friday night. I think the only favorites I may take in first round would be teams upset in their tournament like Virginia, Texas Tech, Tennessee. Other than that I will ride the underdogs and may post a couple. Now , what you have been waiting for: Quinnipiac +6 (buying half point)
