1* Grand Canyon money line -140 #786 7:00
Wake Forest was outscored 42-18 on three pointers yet battled for a push. WF dominated the inside and missed a bunch there but was great at the free throw line. Another bought half point saves the day. It happens almost daily and sometimes three or four times on a Saturday. Tonight we will take Grand Canyon at home on the money line. They are favored by 2-2.5 but I wouldn’t be surprised if they win by a lot more. There are some pitiful teams in this league and despite leading the league, NMState has lost at Sam Houston State and Utah Valley. They are mediocre at best on the road and Grand Canyon is great at home.

Lots of early big games today as it keeps getting harder to pick games as the pointspreads are right on and big games are so close. The ACC is way down this year but two surprise teams are playing each other. Notre Dame has won 8 of their last 9 games but will have a tough task today against Wake Forest who plays good just about every game. They have lost their last two games by a total of 6 points. Lost by 4 to Miami and by 2 to Duke. Notre Dame has beaten Louisville, Clemson and Boston College in their last three, a combined 13-31 in league play. Counting on them to be a little complacent in this match-up and hopefully a little off in their three point shooting. Wake Forest can score from anywhere as they are good inside and out. Their strength inside will be the difference here . The point spread shows the respect for Wake despite ND being 12-3 in conference.

UAB just lost at Old Dominion. They have lost 4 games all year and after each loss they have responded each time with a convincing win by 14, 42, 28, and 22. Rice will be their victim tonight and they are playing with revenge having somehow lost to Rice earlier. UAB has not lost at home all year.

Thought that when Florida was down in the first half they would roar back in the second half and they did only to fall at the very end by one point. The line was actually +1 at some places so some may have gotten a push. New Mexico played close all game and pulled away at the end to give us a split last night. In the last six days the underdogs are covering at about a 66% clip. Tonight, we’ll take Drake who has lost three in a row and will finally get an easy win against one of the worst teams around in Evansville. The Aces have lost five league games by more than 16 pts and are coming off a pretty good game at S. Illinois where they only lost by seven. It should be different tonight as Drake will get well and win this game by 20+ points. St. Louis will get an honorable mention play as they also should rebound tonight.

Florida Just Lost at Kentucky while Texas A&M just loses period, 7 in a row to be exact. Florida is healthy now and their talent should take over this game. New Mexico lost to Wyoming by two points earlier on the road. Basically New Mexico doesn’t lose games by many points and Wyoming doesn’t win games by many points so we will take the six points here.
No picks tonight
Need a night to re-energize after Illinois’ collapse yesterday. Don’t know that I’ve seen a top notch team look so lost for an extended period of time as Illinois did yesterday after taking an 18 point lead with 13 minutes to go. Underdogs have been ruling lately (the first six underdogs on the board yesterday were winners) and the games I was looking at tonight were all favorites. Delaware, Davidson, Dayton, Kansas, Oregon, and Vermont peak my interest and if I had to pick one I’d probably go with the biggest favorite, Davidson , who is at home after losing on the road to Rhode Island and hosting Duquense who is just awful this year. But I think I’ll pass on the light card tonight and wait until tomorrow.
