1* IUPU Fort Wayne -7 #620 6:00
1* Richmond -7 #608 6:00
IPFW is very athletic and can score a lot of points. Almost everyone back this year for them while Austin Peay has lost just about all of their scoring. IPFW doesn’t play real well as a team, they are run and gun, but AP just won’t be able to score with them. Richmond coming off a home loss to Utah State and should be able to handle Ga. State who is a big step down from Utah state.
1* Belmont -6 #818 6:30
Saturday was an easy win and Sunday was an easy loss. Yale had just put up 91 points on UMass and couldn’t miss. Yesterday they go 4-30 from three and 15-62 overall. That’s basketball. Situational play tonight as we bet against Furman who just went to Louisville and pulled off the huge upset. Now they are back on the road at Belmont who normally lights it up at home. Should be a big letdown game for Furman. Let’s hope Belmont shoots better than Yale.
1* Yale +12 First game on board 11:00
We’ll take a very good Yale team on a neutral court in Florida. Yale has already beaten umass and should stay inside number here
1* Delaware money line -140 #643
I hope everyone stayed off the UConn game when the spread soared to 42. It opened at 35 last night , then jumped to 38 this morning and climbed to as much as 42 at game time . UConn got the lead to 42 with about five to go but the subs were awful only scoring 6 the rest of the way while allowing 13. I will reluctantly take the push , although that’s another example of getting the best line as soon as they are released. Tonight, Delaware is the much better team and that’s why they are favored on the road here by 2-3. Siena only brings back two starters while Delaware basically has their entire team back. They just lost at Davidson but Davidson shot 61% from three. Siena got blasted by St. Bonny. I’ll grab the money line here but I believe they will cover the small number. By the way , St. Thomas won today by 18 as a 9 point dog for their first D-1 victory. Like I always say, if you lose betting on a team, it’s likely they cover the next game.
1* Connecticut -35 #306556 11:00am
Coppin state visits UConn and plays their fourth road game in five days including last night. They lost by 58 to Loyola Chicago on tuesday , lost by 25 to Depaul on wednesday, lost to Rider last night by 12 and now plays UConn about 14 hours later. UConn has only played one game and beat Central Connecticut state by 51. Uconn is the toughest team yet and they are loaded this year. They may have this spread covered by half. I made a mistake last night not knowing Richmond was not at home. The schedule I refer to usually makes a note if it is played on a neutral site but it didn’t . Had I known I wouldn’t have made it a play and would have gone with SIUC. A lot of games last night but that’s no excuse. With that said Uconn has two home courts, one on campus and the other at the Hartford civic center.
Don’t ask me why but they split the home games , 8 games at each venue.
Just a couple of opinions late : under 140 St.Louis, Siu Carb -10, Navy +11
