Simple math here, Michigan has lost three in a row and lost their last home game. Illinois has won five in a row and just won at Purdue. Time for Michigan to step up and halt Illinois’ streak.

Middle Tenn was down 71-48 last night with 9 minutes left. They came back and covered easily and actually cut it to 76-73 with 25 seconds left . If you are not going to watch the game, never check the score until about an hour and 45 minutes after the start time. Tonight we’ll go with Monmouth who has emerged as the best and most consistent team in the league. Niagara is not good (their coach is Greg Paulus who used to be the Syracuse QB but also played bball at Duke) but have won three games in a row by a total of four points. Monmouth wins this by double digits. Butler has lost three in a row after their lofty top ten ranking . They need this game badly and face a Marquette team who has won three in a row. Marquette is a one man team with Markus Howard who averages 28.4 a game. Butler prides itself on their defense and if they can hold him to around thirty they should win easily because his supporting cast is weak.

Once again we handicap a game correctly but don’t post it. The under 153 in the Vandy game was never in doubt and it was too good to be true, that’s why it wasn’t a play. That’s four straight unders for Vandy and four straight pointspread losses. This all happened after Aaron Nesmith went down with a bad foot injury five games ago . He is a lottery NBA pick who was averaging 23.5 pts a game and they can’t score or win without him. This Colorado team is really good but just played their worst game in a loss at Arizona. Now they are back home where they catch Washington State off back to back home wins over Oregon and Oregon State. Great spot here at home where the Buffaloes have only failed to cover only once . Middle Tennessee is not a good team but La Tech is way overrated and I expect a big effort at home tonight from the underdog.

Posted plays in a small slump but the plays I talk about and don’t post seem to win easily like Duke and Utah State last night. That’s gambling , the plays you think about but don’t bet always win. Also, the two losers we had on Saturday both won easily last night, Texas A&M and Duke. Strange line of the night: Since Vanderbilt lost their superstar player the team has scored 50, 55, and 45 points and has lost by 19, 20, and 19 yet the over/ under on tonight’s game is 153! I don’t get it and that usually means it will go over. Auburn has lost two straight road games, while South Carolina just beat A&M on the road after beating Kentucky at home. Look for Auburn to get out early tonight and cruise to victory.

Purdue hasn’t played a lot of home games lately but when the do, they dominate. They crushed Michigan State in their last home game and followed it up with a road loss to Maryland. Illinois is flying high ranked #21 and winners of four in a row. Back on Jan. 5 they beat Purdue 63-37. I’m sure Purdue will want to do the same to Illinois and I believe they will get their payback tonight. Another team with similar circumstances is Utah State playing late against Air Force and I also think Duke may put it together tonight as spread keeps climbing.

After losing the first game yesterday and failing to post VCU and Kentucky, we were lucky to get a split at 2-2 after USC makes a miraculous comeback down twenty at half and down three with six seconds to go and not even having possession. A steal, a three pointer and a four point win in OT along with an easy SMU cover gives us 2-2 on the day. I had a * by Kentucky and too much Arkansas hype got to me and the line kept going up. Anyway, today’s game was supposed to be played yesterday but Grand Canyon was stuck in Chicago and finally got a flight to St. Louis, then bussed to KC this morning. I liked UMKC before all of this. GC has been on the road for days now after winning in Chicago. The only drawback to this game is there may not be anyone in the stands because this game starts during the second half of the Chiefs game.
