So hard to pick winners in these opening round games but the first nine games today the underdog went 8-1 ats. And how about if you bet LSU today over Mizzou. Out to a 30-8 lead and winning easily in the second half, up 18 with 1:15 to go and somehow Mizzou scores the last nine points in that last 1:15 to lose by nine and cover the 11.5. St Bony has beaten the Billikens both times this year. Okuro was great today but the bigs on Bony give the Billikens fits with their blocks and that rattled SLU in both games. St. Louis barely broke a sweat beating LaSalle, that won’t be an issue. The Bonnies let Collins drive the lane in the last two games and he got too deep with nowhere to go. Jimerson has to score, he only had 6 in the first meeting. Confidence and better coaching should make a difference this time around. The Billikens have to get off to a good start and hit their outside shots. The only trend is that the Billikens are too good to lose to a team three straight.

Correction on post from yesterday, the favorite and under was 14-4 in MVC, I said over in post yesterday. Vegas got the spread wrong on Delaware yesterday but seems to have made the adjustment on today’s game. The Blue Hens are currently -2.5 but we will take the money line. Some of these games are awfully close and Delaware to win is safer. Wilmington beat Delaware in their only meeting so Delaware wants to return the favor in the championship game. Also at 4:00 I’m making a small play on Jacksonville +3 in the Atlantic Sun championship game.

The MVC cash bonanza on the favorite and over finished at 14-4 with the final yesterday following suit. The only game that lost both ways was the game Saturday night between Drake and Mo. State and the only reason it didn’t win at least one side was that the game went to overtime. At 5:00 we will take Delaware and if you remember we had Delaware in the suspended game where they were leading 38-27 at the half. The game continued a couple weeks later and Towson outscored Delaware 42-19 in the second half. Towson is going for the three game sweep tonight. Delaware is too good a team to bet against getting five points. It worries me a little that the spread is so high but we are taking the points.

It makes me so mad when teams build a big lead and then slow down their offense which gets teams like auburn totally out of snyc. After building a 73-54 lead with just over 8 minutes to go you would think that they could play them even the rest of the way for a 90-71 victory or somewhere close. But auburn manages only one fg in the next seven minutes. ONE! and this is with all their starters in the game! Ok, on to this afternoon. Wyoming has lost two in a row and is catching Fresno after a three overtime game against SDState which they lost. And we are taking Kansas just because they just have to play a good game sooner or later.

The under and the favorite continue to cash in the MVC tournament here as yesterday that combination was 7-1. The under was a perfect 4-0 with no drama in any game. Could have been 8-0 as Mo.State won by 9 as a ten point favorite to ruin the perfect day. 10-2 for all six games. Late this season the really good teams have been hammering the bad teams at home so we will go with that trend in the early games today. Iona and Notre Dame are coming off losses and Auburn just rolls at home with their closest win being 9 points over Kentucky in January. South Carolina, Quinnipiac, and Pitt shouldn’t pose a problem on senior day for the home teams. At 11:00 am Chattanooga should handle the Citadel who played yesterday but no line on game yet. Also at 11:00, Virginia should handle an awful Louisville team and Alabama is tempting as a 4 point dog to LSU.
No Picks Tonight
The MVC tournament is off and running in St.Louis and as usual in the first two rounds, the under and the favorite are cashing big. The under is 3-1 so far while the favorites are a perfect 4-0 . Should have bet against Michigan last night after their big win over Mich state, that’s the way it goes. Huge schedule tomorrow with lesser conference tournament games along with a full slate of bigger conference games. Hope to find a few winners.
