  1. 1* Richmond -6 #794 5:00 EARLY START

Utah state lost a bunch of scoring from last year and rarely travels to the east. Richmond, whose core scoring remains, should prevail here by double digits. May have another play later.

  2. We had a little problem some of the emails were going to spam area, Jackie thinks we have that corrected. Let me know if anyone is having problems getting these after today

  3. 1* Providence -15 #301228 5:30 start

Opening night resulted in a number of big underdogs covering as Gonzaga fails to cover the 40 point line but St John’s covers the 45 point line with ease over the worst D-1 team. I guess that should have been the play as St. Thomas gets off to a terrible start (first ever D-1 game) but comes back to take an 8 point lead with just over six minutes to go. Chicago state then hits a couple of threes and it goes down from there. Tonight we take Providence who was a little sluggish in their 7 point win over fairfield and hosts Sacred Heart. Sacred heart just beat Lasalle in overtime on Tuesday. I think Providence couldn’t be very happy with their play on Tuesday and Sacred Heart had to feel pretty good about their win. The Friars should step it up tonight and win easily.

  4. 1* St. Thomas -6 #697 7:00

Well last night there were 70 games on the board and now there are 120. The “added games” came out this morning. The biggest line is St.John’s -45 against the 358th (the worst) ranked team Mississippi Valley State. I think they still lose by 50. There are a bunch of spreads larger than 20 including SLU at 21.5. Tons of blowouts tonight. Anyway we are betting against the 357th ranked team, Chicago State. St Thomas has done the unthinkable moving from D-3 to D-1 this season. The Summit league has welcomed them in. St. Thomas was a basketball machine in D-3 where they have dominated for years. They run a disciplined fast paced offense subbing frequently sometimes five at a time. Chicago State struggles to score against anyone and have gone 0-30 in the mediocre WAC conference since they joined. This program has no money and no plan and is full of freshmen. Really two programs heading in the opposite direction. Now St. Thomas heads into Chicago as a favorite. That should tell you something. The line started at 6 and has slowly risen all day. The Tommies should prevail easily here as they open up their D-1 season with an easy win.

  5. College basketball starts with a bang tomorrow with 70 games on the board currently. Last couple of years almost all the conferences were on the board but that may be different this year as it looks like they have eliminated some of the weaker conferences. I hope that’s the case, less games to handicap. If you are looking for info on any team or any conference, go to threemanweave.com. There is a great deal of info on all teams and ranks them in their conference. The lines are out for tomorrow, you can find them at vegasinsider.com and then college basketball odds. Gonzaga opens at a 40 point fav at home against Dixie state. They are the top ranked team again according to the kenpom power ratings. We will see if we can’t find a hidden gem on opening night. The first games tomorrow start at 4:00 with the last games starting at 9:30. Let’s hope for a normal basketball season!
